Original
Résumé Their three daily meals are special moments in the life of an elderly couple. The four walls define the limits of their intimate universe where living and "living together" have become one and the same reality. Despite the years, there is still a lot of tenderness in their words and silences. Yes, there is always a little bit left; of life and love. Extrait « SHE, she gets up and putters around the kitchen, doing the morning chores : Well, another day. / HE : I think my leg's goin' to be giving me some trouble today. / SHE : Did you massage it last night? / HE : Yes. / SHE : Did you take your pills this morning? / HE : Yes. This production marks a watershed in Quebec drama, one of the most beautiful and enriching evenings of theatre-going one can
hope to find (...) Mercier's play should be around for as long as great theatre appeals." Lawrence Sabbath, The Montreal Star, January 30, 1978. |
