Résumé Adam, a young, learned biochemist deliberately refuses to believe anything that cannot be explained by science. And yet, an unexpected mystery infuses his life after a chance meeting with Stella, a She-fish. As soon as she realizes that she is with child, she’s adamant on returning to her hometown, by the ocean, to share the good news with her mother. Her mother, however, much to Adam’s bewilderment and Stella’s indifference, is dead and buried in the town cemetery. Her return to Maritime, mothering sources is shared with her new landlocked lover, constantly surprised by the magical reality of Stella’s life. Extrait «STELLA: I spent my
