Rosemonde (English translation) [1996]
Original
Résumé A storyteller shares her tale of a very special island. It is the tale of Rosemonde and of Donegan, her sailor lost at sea; of Granny, the oldest woman on the island; of a message in a bottle; and of the townsfolk, coming together to make a wish. They can make just one wish. It is a tale of love, happiness, immortality, and departures. This is a tale where something leaves, forever. Rosemonde's belly swells, and a bottle returns, bringing with it something essential. In this script, the author strives to capture the poetic magic of the great popular legends. Extrait « GRANNY : […] You want to kiss me? No, not straight away! Your lips are so cold. Brrrr! Over there… Over there, where the breathing stops, where the blood no longer flows, where the heart gives up the fight… Is there something over there? Something to see? A view, with clouds, or angels, or something. Something like paradise… paradise… paradise… » |
