And when the CWAC'S Go Marching on [1984]
Original
Résumé In 1942, four women from different backgrounds enroll in the CWAC's, each one bringing to the adventure her personal strengths, expectations and dreams. As sporadic news of the war on the other side of the Atlantic reaches the isolated army base where they are stationed, a certain solidarity
develops between the four women. The play follows their five-week intensive training period where tears compete with laughter. The play features a little known chapter of history. It is the story of Québécois women in the Canadian Armed Forces, but it could easily be adapted for English Canada or any other country with a similar situation. Written in a classic North American style, this story combines truth, naïveté and deep emotion. It appeals to a broad audience.
