Baobab (en anglais) [2010]
Original
Résumé In a region of West Africa plagued by a persistent drought, stands a huge and ancient baobab tree. One day, the baobab brings forth an egg, and from this egg is born a little boy named Amondo. Thanks to the wisdom of the Griot and the Marabou, Amondo comes to realise that he must complete a heroic quest. It is up to him to steal the Witch's hump, locate the bone of the Great Griot, and outwit a monkey magician, in order to find the water that will save his village. A story inspired by Hélène Ducharme's residency with Mali's Théâtre Sô and her artistic collaborators Hamadoun Kassogué (Mali) and Ismaîla Manga (Senegal).
