- Caractéristiques des personnages: CHARACTERS
HÉLÈNE
About forty. Mother of an eight-year-old child, she lives very simply. She is tormented, intuitive, impulsive and lucid. Her keen sense of observation has left her cynical. She is all of a piece. Her intelligence, her humour and her untamed quality are her most attractive attributes. She is also changeable and jealous; when she feels thwarted, she is capable of abrupt and cruel mood swings. She is a sensual, attractive woman. Her occult inner world gives her a fascinating quality.
XAVIER
In his thirties. He is active, tense, sentimental and passionate. He is a seducer who displays both childlike and virile qualities. He is incapable of dealing with disapproval; he likes to be in charge. He is narcissistic and he takes up a lot of room. He charges ahead and seeks out risks and challenges, but out of vanity and with little foresight. He is anxious and tormented and responds badly to emotionally threatening situations. He has a tendency to seek refuge in alcohol. He is an imaginative artist generous with his talent. He is excessive and as charming as he is detestable.
ADRIEN
Twin brother to Xavier, he is entirely different. Taciturn and solitary, untamed and tough. Intelligent and cynical, he has the cham of a handsome and virile adventurer. He is a man of the Northern wilderness; insensitive to the vulnerabilities of others, independent and domineering. He has a commanding presence.
Extrait « HÉLÈNE: My dream was a warning. A big gouache painting. A pale green house, huge, with empty window frames. A deserted house. Suddenly, from behind the house, a black pig appeared. The house started to shake; the pig charged me. A live bird in its jaws. / XAVIER: The bird is a bad omen? / HÉLÈNE: It's your penis. / XAVIER: What would my penis be doing in some pig's mouth? / HÉLÈNE: The usual. » Revue de presse "The play sparks with animalistic tension and poetic language."
