The janitor of a Montreal apartment building has fallen off the roof. Accident? Suicide? Homicide? Three cops investigate : a young, brilliant and ambitious corporal; an aging and ineffectual sergeant who is jealous of the junior officer's success; and an idealistic woman officer caught between the two. The rooftop soon becomes the battleground for their differences as they try to solve the mystery of the janitor's death.
