Résumé A web of failed hopes and sexual intrigue ensnares a bourgeois Québec City family. Achille, whose political career is left in ruins after a Royal Commission inquiry, attempts to regain his former status with the newly-elected government. His daughter Geneviève, pregnant by her father's half-brother Thomas, goes to Montreal for an abortion where she meets a girl who was raped by her father. She brings the traumatized girl back to the family home and instigates a "game of truth" that has tragic consequences.
