L is for Elephant [1998]
Original
Résumé Arthur Winner is anti-social, withdrawn and intolerant. In the company of his goldfish, this lonely figure leads a life as unappealing as his clothes. His strict daily routine leaves no room for excitement or enjoyment, and no room at all for love. One day, Elenor, a sweet-voiced elephant, breaks into his apartment and disturbs his everyday existence. Arthur Winner does everything he can to get rid of her, but with no success, since Elenor seems determined to stay. And since one misfortune generally follows another, Arthur's world is also upset by his chatty, lively landlady, Miss Elizabeth, whose affection for him is becoming increasingly obvious. With her zest for life and unfailing good humour, Miss Elizabeth embodies everything the grumpy Arthur would rather forget.
Now that Elenor has arrived in his life, will Arthur Winner agree to change his routine? And what are his real feelings for Miss Elizabeth? Extrait « WINNER : Pfff… I don't know what you think, Hector, but personally, I find the rain's performance a little weak, don't you? It's just not up to snuff, falling here and there with no real intention, no nerve or ambition. » |
