Résumé
A river's estuary, its humid beauty set against the beige of mobile homes. A village, where former fishermen stay in order to come to the shore to furrow their brows. They stay in order to love a woman whose improbable beauty and naked body make them weep, night after night, under the flickering pink of neon lights. Then, a motor's roar. A truck. A man who orders a beer. And the flood. Thereafter.

- Décor: Using the bare minimum, the stage evokes many of the village’s areas with, at the crossroads, the
gravel of the Emotions parking lot. These places should exude an atmosphere which owes both to the
presence of the river in all of its humid beauty and to something a little cheap, something mobile-homekitchen-
with-avocado-green-laminate-and-fabric-art-ish.
- Caractéristiques des personnages: Penelope: hairdresser, Homer’s wife. - Homer: former fisherman, now retired, Penelope’s husband, and regular at Emotions. - George: barman and owner of Emotions. - June: stripper at Emotions. - Grace: snackbar owner, June’s mother. - Dennis: truck driver in transit.

« GRACE : Once upon a time… Once upon a time, there was a woman. Non, pas vraiment une femme. Plus quelque chose comme une sirène, t'sais, une femme half and half, half woman and half fish, something that doesn't belong anywhere, not in water, not on land, and that spends its time crying or singing songs to hit on men, yeah, that's it, a mermaid, so once upon a time there was a mermaid. »
