Born in Haiti on June 12th and adopted by a Quebecois family just before her third birthday, Phara starts her new life in a “miniature village” in Quebec. Sidelong glances, racial discrimination and tactless remarks make her painfully aware of her difference. Bearing this difference like a burden, she struggles with her sense of identity. One day, Phara undertakes a tireless quest to find her birth mother.
