In the master bedroom of a suburban bungalow, twelve women surround the deathbed of the pater familias. Nana, with her quiet strength, is surrounded by her fussing daughters, granddaughters and sister-in-law. Day turns to night turns to day, but the old man hangs on. While the older women recall their strict upbringing in Egypt, the younger women lay bare their wayward natures. United by a family legacy that must live on, these three generations of women actively disagree about what ought to be preserved. Their odes to the old man at the end of his life awaken old wounds, strengthen frayed connections, dig up secrets long buried.
